Above are some of the treatments that Dr. Falkenroth uses
to help his patients get relief from their low back pain, neck pain and sciatica.
Ever since he was a young boy growing up in Omaha, Nebraska, Dr. Falkenroth has always wanted to help people. During his senior year in high school, Dr. Falkenroth realized that having a career in the health field would maximize his ability to help people.
To gain a strong background on how the human body works, Dr. Falkenroth studied human physiology extensively at the University of California at Davis. In 1994, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology from UC Davis.
While attending anatomy and physiology classes at UC Davis, Dr. Falkenroth continually recognized the importance of having a healthy spine to the overall health of the body. Your spine protects your spinal cord and your delicate spinal nerves. These spinal nerves go to every muscle, joint and organ below your head including your heart, lungs, intestines, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, adrenals, kidneys, etc.
Since spinal nerve roots come out between two spinal bones, spinal bone misalignments can create a pinched nerve. A pinched nerve will affect your muscles, joints and organs that rely on the affected nerves. In other words, if you have spinal misalignments, you are more likely to have pinched nerves… and you are more likely to develop problems and diseases in your body.
Some of the early symptoms of a pinched nerve include low back pain, neck pain, and sciatica or leg pain. Dr. Falkenroth realized that if he can treat that pinched nerve early on when the patient first feels low back pain, neck pain or sciatica… that perhaps he can prevent the patient’s muscles, joints and vital organs from degenerating or from developing an abnormal disease.
With this realization, Dr. Falkenroth decided to focus on treating low back pain, neck pain and sciatica. To complement his excellent physiology background from UC Davis, Dr. Falkenroth decided to go to Davenport, Iowa to attend the 100+ year old top-rated chiropractic college in the world – Palmer College – where he graduated summa cum laude.
While working for his doctor of chiropractic degree, Dr. Falkenroth studied spinal anatomy, spinal physiology and spinal biomechanics. He developed his spinal palpation skills to the point where he could reach inside a bag with 33 individual spinal bones… pick one bone… and without looking… correctly identify exactly which of the 33 spinal bones he was holding.
Dr. Falkenroth’s knowledge in spinal biomechanics, combined with his dedication to help make his patients’ lives better, has resulted in thousands of his patients overcoming their low back pain, neck pain, and sciatica. So far, Dr. Falkenroth has helped over 3,500 patients.
Dr. Falkenroth works very hard for his patients. He spends many hours reading journals and research articles that cover best treatment methods for low back pain, neck pain, and sciatica. He also attends over 20 hours of certified continuing education classes every year that cover different topics on the treatment of low back pain, neck pain, and sciatica.
In addition to using traditional chiropractic treatments for low back pain, neck pain, and sciatica, Dr. Falkenroth constantly looks for new treatments that will help his patients get better faster. A few years ago, he discovered two groundbreaking treatments.
The first one is Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression… a treatment that gently stretches the patient’s low back for relief of low back pain and sciatica.
According to Dr. Falkenroth, “After over 20 years of treating patients with low back pain and sciatica, I have not seen a treatment as effective as this one. Some patients who can barely walk are able to stand up straight and walk normal again after just a few sessions on this machine.” Unfortunately, because patients' conditions and response to treatment vary, their results using this therapy vary as well. However, non-surgical spinal decompression therapy has helped a lot of patients.
The second treatment that Dr. Falkenroth discovered is a computer-guided spinal treatment that uses modern computer technology and engineering. This treatment detects spinal misalignments and uses a computer-guided stylus to comfortably correct misalignments and restore normal spinal joint motion. Patients who do not like the twisting, cracking, or popping associated with traditional chiropractic treatments love being treated by this computerized spinal treatment.
Dr. Falkenroth is one of a few back pain doctors in the United States trained and certified to use Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression therapy and the computer-guided spinal treatment. After Dr. Falkenroth incorporated these two high-tech treatments to his practice, many of his patients have found much needed relief of their low back pain, neck pain, and sciatica.
Dr. Falkenroth is currently the Clinic Director at the Back Pain And Sciatica Clinic in Soquel, California, which is in Santa Cruz County. After over 20 years in practice, Dr. Falkenroth has helped over 3,500 patients with low back pain, neck pain and sciatica.
When Dr. Falkenroth is not helping patients, he spends time with his family. He has been happily married to his wife, Estrella, for 21 years. Together, they share the hard work and the pleasure of raising their three children ages 15, 17, and 19.
Dr. Falkenroth also spends some of his free time on his hobbies – reading, listening to music, biking, swimming, camping, hiking, and running. Dr. Falkenroth has participated in many local races that support important programs and organizations in Santa Cruz County.
